The 4th Annual Tribute to the Caribbean: "Back to Our Roots", was an event that took place on campus. I documented the event using my Nikon D60 and various lenses. I hope you enjoy.

Photos week of Feb. 15th -21st
Last Week's Photo's for Review
Ok so I've been extremely busy so I haven't been able to update the blog until now. I'll try harder new week to squeeze in some time on Wed. or Thur. How ever if that cannot work then I'll consider using Sat. as the new updates day.
That being said I have a few (6 - 3 from last week and 3from this week) photos that I'll be posting for your critiquing. These well the my top photos of the weeks.
As you know if you are not honest I'll never learn and become better.
So without further ado.
Look above for the photos. . . feel free to comment.

Ode to Hannah J. Whyms
Okay so before I start with the uploading of photos and such I just need to mention my best friend and her actions which lead up to that rank.
Hannah J. Whyms
Hannah has been the truest friend anyone can ever have. She never judges but gently offers advise to use at your discretion. She'll never turn her back on you and remains true to her promises even at personal lost to herself. Over the distance of hundreds of miles her friendship is still apparent. From hand written letters with creatively designed envelopes, to cards on the Holidays and Valentine's Day, she even paid a visit to me in the summer when she did not have to.
So, to Hannah J. Whyms, I cannot even pretend to be the friend you are to me and truthfully I never will be. For to be a person of your quality and stature, with your optimism and kind touch, smile, and character, is not easily acquired. Personally I think you would have had to be born that way.
Sorry Hannah, for not being the friend you are to me. Hoping and praying that your dreams will come true in the biggest ways and happiness may follow you forever.
Woke up this morning, the sun's not there yet
Checked my mail at the start of my day
And lost myself in a familiar script
I closed my eyes and slipped away
Its more than a feeling, to remember the kindness
I begin dreaming of days long ago
Had to walk away
To see me walkin away
So many people have come and gone
With faces fading as years go by
Yet I still recall as I wander on
As clear as the sun in the summer sky
Its more than a feeling, to remember her friendship
I begin dreaming of days long ago
Had to walk away
To see me walkin away
When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in your letters, forgetting the day
And dream of a friend I always want to know
And dream of a friend I hope will always be there.

Getting To Busniess
OK so I know I have been slow coming with updating this blog and keeping you on the edge of your seats with the magnificent images I produce. This is because I did not have an angle or direction but that has changed.
As a student photojournalist I am still in training and very critical of my own work. I meet with Daron Dean, UF photojournalism grad, St. Augustine Record, staff photographer, current, and he gave me the idea to use the blog as a display for my photos.
So each week I will upload three (3) to five (5) of my best photos for your critiquing.
For more information about Daron Dean visit his website @

With the grace of GOD and your help I will become successful.
